Sea angling

Great fun for people of all ages, sea angling trips are  available in most parts of the country.

Drangey Tours
Our boat tours to Drangey Island start from Sauðárkrókur marina, surrounded by the stunning landscape of Skagafjordur in North of Iceland. Drangey island is a birdwatching paradise. The island is a nesting colony for thousands of seabirds, including puffins, guillemots, gannets, kittiwakes, fulmar, shearwaters along with ravens and gyrfalcons. The island is a sheer sided palagonite rock aproximately 180m high and provides a wonderful view over the whole fjord. A trip to Drangey is a unique experience combining  sightseeing, birdwatching, sailing, hiking with personal service and guidance. There is a man made path to the top of the island along the face of the cliffs. While hiking you can get up close to the puffins that frequently sit resting within a few meters of the path. During the hike our tour guides tell the ancient stories of Grettir the strong, a viking that lived on the island in excile and more recent ones of how the islands resources have harvested from past to present. The tour is suitable for both groups and individuals of all ages. The tour duration is approximately 4 hours. It´s not a problem if someone does not wish to take on the hiking part of the trip to the top of the island.  Those who wish can stay on the boat or go on shore at the small harbor in Drangey, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenes of nature all around. Over the summer months, June 1st - August 20 st, we offer daily trips to Drangey from Sauðárkrókur at 9:30 am. In May and September are no scheduled tours but tours can be arranged on request.
Arctic Trip
Arctic Trip was founded in 2015 by Halla Ingolfsdottir, a highly experienced guide with over 20 years of experience in guiding travelers around North Iceland, in Eyjafjordur and in particular in Grímsey where she has spent most of her days. Although recently founded, Arctic Trip has been in the making for several years; collecting experience, making social and business connections, testing the natural elements and wildlife. Halla has a passion for storytelling and the outdoors and she and her team is very excited to welcome you to the remote island of Grímsey, to be on top of the world! Arctic Trip was founded with the mission that everybody should enjoy a relaxed stay, to nourish their mind. We believe people should spend their holiday renewing themselves and creating memories that will last a lifetime. We respect the environment, the wildlife and the tender and fragile nature of Iceland. Preservation and respect for the nature is a key factor in the Arctic Trip manifesto.
