Several ferries sail from the mainland to the local islands. The international ferrie Norræna also docs in Iceland, in Seyðisfjörður, which is in the east part of the country.
Grímsey Ferry Sæfari
The ferry Sæfari maintains a year-round schedule between Dalvík town and Grímsey. Dalvík is situated about 45 km north of Akureyri and is approximately a 40-minute drive from there. The journey to Grímsey takes approximately 3 hours each way, and the ferry can accommodate up to 108 passengers, along with cars and cargo. During the winter, the ferry operates three to four times a week, while in the summer, it runs five times a week. On Saturdaymornings you must order the ferry at 07:00 for it to be on schedule

Attention : there is no ferry at 07:00 on Sundays and holidays.
