Through an Icelander's eyes - This autumn, we want to show our followers how some of the best Icelandic photographers have viewed North Iceland in recent years.
Next up is Gunnar Freyr - @icelandic_explorer - who traveled in North Iceland in 2019.
Here you'll see photos from Blönduós, Hofsós, the deltas of Héraðsvötn, Grettislaug natural pool and the historic sites of Grafarkirkja and Glaumbær.
Boiling water and geothermal energy at Krafla and Þeistareykir are showcased here by Gunnar Freyr, who also visited Akureyri and Siglufjörður when he traveled in North Iceland.
Gunnar Freyr went on a whale watching tour, in the whale watching capital - Húsavík! Here you'll also see the Herðubreið, known as the "Queen of Icelandic Mountains," Stóra-Víti, Hverir, and Hverfjall near Lake Mývatn and last but not least the magnificent Goðafoss waterfall.
