Notes on the walking route
Dimmuborgir is a protected heritage site, where you walk among unique lava formations. There are no great obstacles on the shorter paths, but on Krókastígur one has to go through gataklettur cliff, which requires bending while walking on loose terrain. The shorter paths are shoveled and sanded in the wintertime as much as conditions allow. Special winter markings are put up in the winter on these routes to make it easier for guests to find their way around. Walking around in the snow during the winter is a bit more difficult, but still a relatively easy walk.
Please do not walk outside of marked paths and show consideration for flora and fauna
