Vestnorden 2025 will be in Akureyri
This week it was announced that the next Vestnorden Travel Trade Show will be held in Akureyri in the autumn of 2025.
Traditionally, the next location is announced at the closing dinner, and this year, Vestnorden took place in the Faroe Islands. The North Iceland Marketing Office was represented by Arnheiði Jóhannsdóttir and Halldór Óli Kjartansson, who presented everything that North Iceland's tourism has to offer.
Vestnorden is the most important business platform for tourism in the North Atlantic region. At the trade show, tourism companies from Iceland, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland come together to showcase their products to international tourism operators attending the event. The trade show is a collaborative project among Iceland, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland under the auspices of NATA, the North-Atlantic Tourism Association. Visit Iceland is the organizing body when it is held in Iceland.
Vestnorden was last held in Akureyri in 2018. The trade show occurs every other year in Iceland, with the alternating years taking place in the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Approximately 600 guests are expected, including tourism operators from the three countries and retailers from over 30 countries worldwide.
